 It
is time to start preparing for the Back to School Time -
August and September of each year. The Back to School
promotion presents a wonderful mission
opportunity for you to become involved in helping others.
Annually ARM receives and delivers donated school supplies, hygiene
items and Wal-Mart Gift Cards designed for helping children in
Appalachia. Working through local churches, ministry centers
and Baptist Associations the school supplies and hygiene items are
given to children and youth identified as needing help.
You
can ship or mail your donations to Appalachian Regional Ministry, 28
White Rock Road, Hurricane, WV 25526. Please make checks
payable to Appalachian Regional Ministry designated for school
supplies. Many churches, WMU organizations, and associations
enjoy personally delivering the school packs into Appalachia.

Please do not use
travel or sample size items. Place these items in a large zip-lock
bag for distribution. Include a gospel track and/or New Testament
in a modern translation. If you prepare them for men or women
please identify that on the outside of the zip lock bag. If
you prepare the hygiene or care pack for boys or girls, please
identify that on the outside of the bag.
The above list is
one that contains suggested items. You are not limited to
these items. You may also prepare a simple generic hygiene
pack with just the basic items in it.
