The BCNY serves New York State, Southwestern Connecticut, Northern New
Jersey, Western Massachusetts, and parts of Ontario Canada. Terry Robertson,
the Executive Director for BCNY states, "As I travel throughout our
convention's territory I am amazed at the enormity of the task at reaching
[it] with the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
ARM is partnering with BCNY to mobilize Southern Baptists and their
resources to intentionally response to the spiritual and physical needs of
persons living in the Appalachian region - the evangelization of the lost,
by assisting existing churches, and helping start new churches in the
multi-state region of Appalachia.
Lamar Duke, State Director of Missions, recently shared that he is praying for God to send labors into this vast harvest field. He quoted the words of Jesus from Luke 10:2, "What a huge harvest! And how few the harvest hands. So on your knees; ask the God of the Harvest to send harvest hands" (MSG).
The BCNY believes that the most effective and efficient
way to reach the lost of their convention territory is by planting vital,
evangelizing, discipling, reproducing churches within walking or driving
distance of every person in their own heart language.
Within the territory of the BCNY are over 25 million unchurched persons -
men and women, boys and girls, teenager who are lost without Christ.
To reach the great mission field within the territory of the BCNY for Christ will take church planters, prayer walkers, long-term partners, evangelistic outreach efforts and multiple prayer warriors.
Will you join in the harvest?
