Charles Minney, who grew up in Stumptown, West Virginia, began his ministry as the Association Missionary for the Coalfields Baptist Association in October, 2009. Charlie and his wife, Cindy have one daughter, Nichole. Prior to moving back to the state, Minney served as Strategic Missions Champion at First Baptist Church, Woodstock, for the state of West Virginia. To read the rest of the story click here.

For the most current news on the Southern Baptists Response to Haiti click the links below: The FBI issued a warning about Relief Fraud. “The FBI reminds Internet users who receive appeals to donate money in the aftermath of Tuesday's earthquake in Haiti to apply a critical eye and do their due diligence before responding to those requests. Past tragedies and natural disasters have prompted individuals with criminal intent to solicit contributions purportedly for a charitable organization and/or a good cause.” The guidelines from the FBI include:
The State Department has set up a help line for individuals seeking information about family members in Haiti. The toll-free number to call is 1 888 407-4747. The State Department advises that some callers may receive a recording because of the heavy volume of calls.
